reminds me of why I sold my Subaru and bought a Land Cruiser.

I mean, sure, there are ones like Chaze Lane’s

Kinja'd!!!

and yeah, Grant’s too

but looking at it now the trails you can do with a subaru hepped up on diffballs is like the stuff I wouldn’t even bother airing down or shifting out of high range for.

I really liked my FXT, but i was delusional to think that it was going to be modifiable into something that could handle even the more modest trails I do.

The first video is golden, thanks for that.

The second video is comedy gold too. He’s got it all “modded” to try and go up dirt hills.

That dirt be treacherous yo!

Here are some related videos which I found extremely soothing but at the same time exciting to watch. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they’re perfect for watching from bed if you can’t sleep. I think they’re made by an Opponaut, not sure who though.

Just need an older subaru to work with.

You've gotta admit that they are still quite capable for car based crossovers with full time AWD, still managing to get close to 30 mpg.

I know my car couldn’t do that. Maybe not even with the 4WD trim.

I was going to post this guy, but he’s often pulled from the trail because of damage and at that point...it looses most of the good points about being a subaru.

I like my outback too much to thrash it on a gnarly trail. That's what my 26 year old Isuzu is for. There is no substitute for solid axles and a low range transfer case.

I would have kept the forester if I could have also bought the cruiser, or an older version of one.

I’m more inclined to lower mine to turn it into the wagon that it’s truly meant to be than try any of that. First though I have a simple steering wheel swap to do which I might get to by April if I’m lucky Baby steps.

I think now we need comparison videos of ‘Cruisers idling up the same kind of terrain

Agreed. These are about the only crossovers that people actually use off road. Even if they can’t compete with actual 4x4s, that’s still impressive.
